Veteran Nollywood actor Francis Duru has spoken about coping with the loss of his son, saying he returned to church duties the day after the burial despite the emotional pain.
According to the interview, aired on Signature TV, Duru said the experience has been deeply traumatic but has not stopped him from fulfilling his personal and professional responsibilities.
The actor explained that his career extends beyond filmmaking, noting that he is involved in theatre, consultancy work across different fields and also teaches Sunday school at his church.
“I have never been quiet. The Saturday they buried my son, on Sunday I was in church doing what? Doing what I am supposed to do,” Duru said.
He added, “Yes, trauma and all that stuff have been there, but I have never been quiet. It is not only movies I do, I do theatre, I do consultancy in different areas, then I go to school.”
According to the interview, Duru said he has continued to remain active in his various commitments despite the personal tragedy, choosing to carry on with the responsibilities he believes are important.
