Victor Ochei, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Delta North Senatorial District, has described the Federal High Court’s ruling on the party’s registration as a temporary setback and pledged support for efforts to challenge the judgment through legal means.
According to Daily Post on Saturday, June 27, 2026, Ochei made the remarks in Asaba, expressing confidence that the issues raised by the court would be resolved through constitutional processes.
The former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly said temporary setbacks do not determine the outcome of a lawful political struggle, adding that democratic movements often encounter legal and structural challenges before achieving stability.
He reaffirmed his support for the NDC leadership’s decision to pursue all available legal remedies and urged party members to remain united while focusing on the party’s broader political objectives.
“I join the leadership of the NDC to respectfully disagree with the judgment. I also acknowledge the position of the leadership of our great party to pursue every lawful and constitutional avenue in addressing this development, and I offer my unwavering support and solidarity as we collectively navigate this temporary setback,” Ochei said.
