My boyfriend lives with his mother. That isn’t the problem, but he shares a single room with his mother. He said he rented the room for himself, and his mom came to visit and never went back. I asked him to help his mom get a new place. He said, “If I had the money, do you think you’d be the one to tell me?”

Because of that, I hardly visit his place. I feel bad doing that because whenever I visit, his mom has to stay out the entire time that I would be there. It didn’t sit well with me, so I would rather meet him outside or welcome him to visit me.
He also has this ego that makes him feel spending time with his girlfriend at her place makes him less of a man. He has never spent a night at my place because, according to him, it’s not proper. I’m living in my parents’ house too, but I live in the boys’ quarters, far from the main house. He still doesn’t see the need to spend the night with me.
One weekend, he said his mom had traveled to their hometown for a funeral, so he would like to spend the night with me. We hadn’t done that in ages, so I was excited.
Around midnight, we heard a knock on the door and his mother calling his name. “Kofi, I’m back. Open the door.”
My boyfriend screamed, “Didn’t you say you’d come tomorrow? Why did you rush back home?”
She answered, “Open the door. You don’t know what nearly happened to me.”
I was then up and seated on the bed, ready to dress up. He pulled me back into bed and said, “You’re not going anywhere.”
He told his mom that his girlfriend was spending the night because she hadn’t told him she was coming. His mom asked, “So I should sleep outside?”
I screamed, “Oh, Mom, please come in. I’m coming to open the door.”
I got dressed, opened the door, and she walked in. I was about to leave when she said I could stay because it was too late. I slept on the couch, his mom slept on the floor, while he slept on the bed. I was up the whole night waiting for the cock to crow and the new day to begin.
I Called My Girlfriend And Another Man Answered The Phone
When I left, I said to myself, “Never again.”
I gave him an ultimatum to get his mom a new place or kiss our relationship goodbye. He said I was leaving him because he was poor and that I should remember bad days don’t last. It’s not about bad days. He has to fix his situation with his mom before he can invite another woman into his life. Or am I not being wise here?
