I’m a Confraternity Man, I’m in Supremo Eiye Confraternity, I’m Already Outside Since 2000 — Suspect

A Lagos resident, Adelagunju Ridwan, who has spent years living on the streets due to worsening housing challenges in the state, has spoken about the increasing number of people forced to sleep in bus terminals and open public spaces.

Speaking during an interview with News Central TV on Sunday, June 21, 2026, Ridwan discussed the growing housing crisis in Lagos and its impact on low-income residents, especially informal workers struggling with high rent costs and limited access to shelter.

Reflecting on his life on the streets, Ridwan said, “I’m a confraternity man. I’m in Supremo Eiye Confraternity. I’m already outside since year 2000. All those people you see there push wheelbarrow and carry load on their head. They need somewhere to sleep at night.”

His statement highlighted his long experience with street life and the difficult conditions faced by daily labourers who depend on physical work to survive.

His remarks also attracted attention due to his reference to his affiliation with the Eiye Confraternity during the interview.
