Iran Draws Redline to US: Control Israeli Aircraft or Face Consequences as Regional Tension Rises

Iran has warned the United States that it may take action if Washington fails to prevent Israeli military aircraft from using neighbouring countries’ airspace for operations targeting the Islamic Republic.

According to Al Jazeera English, Iranian officials accused Israel of turning regional air routes into potential corridors for military operations and described flights near Iran’s borders as a threat to national security.

Tehran said continued movement of Israeli aircraft through nearby airspace would be regarded as a hostile act and insisted it reserves the right to take what it called “necessary measures” to defend itself.

The warning increases pressure on the United States, a key ally of Israel. Iranian officials argued that Washington bears responsibility for helping to prevent further escalation in the region.

The latest statement comes amid months of heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, with both sides exchanging threats over broader security concerns in the Middle East. Iran has also voiced concerns about foreign military activity and surveillance operations near its territory, warning that perceived violations of its security boundaries could lead to a wider confrontation.

Regional governments, meanwhile, face growing pressure to avoid becoming entangled in any potential conflict involving Iran, Israel and their allies.
