Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, has reacted to the large turnout of Peter Obi’s supporters at the Khalifa Sharif Anta Annual Zikri programme in Kano State.
In a post shared on his official X account on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Tanko commented on the participation of Obidient Movement members at the annual event, describing it as part of the group’s ongoing mobilisation efforts.
“We keep mobilizing the people from the North, West, East and South. Nigeria must be liberated from hunger and poverty,” he wrote.
Tanko said the movement would continue to mobilise support for the former Anambra State governor across the country’s six geopolitical zones.
The remarks followed reports that a large number of Obidient Movement supporters attended the annual Zikri programme in Kano State, where photographs of the gathering were shared online. Tanko reiterated that the movement’s objective is to unite Nigerians in the fight against hunger and poverty through sustained civic and political engagement.
