Apostle Johnson Suleman has urged Christians not to see God as easily provoked by human wrongdoing, saying history and the Bible show that humanity has committed far greater acts of evil than many people imagine.
Speaking during a sermon aired on Celebration TV on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Suleman challenged believers to rethink their understanding of God’s response to sin.
“What sin can you commit that will move God? Have you done worse than the people of Sodom and Gomorrah? Are you worse than Hitler?” he asked.
The cleric said Scripture and world history contain numerous examples of extreme wickedness. Referring to the persecution of the Jewish people, he recounted an account in which soldiers allegedly discovered gold inside the body of a Jewish man who had swallowed it to conceal his valuables.
According to Suleman, the discovery led soldiers to target other Jews they suspected of hiding gold. He used the example to illustrate the depth of human cruelty, urging Christians to trust in God’s mercy while pursuing righteous living and turning away from sin.:::
