Mrs. Rachael Alamu, a school principal abducted alongside teachers and schoolchildren in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has recounted the harsh conditions they endured while in captivity.
Speaking in a video shared by TVC, Alamu said the kidnappers initially gave biscuits to the children during the first week but later stopped. She added that the captives were repeatedly relocated whenever their abductors believed security operatives had discovered their hideout.
According to Alamu, the movements usually began around 7 p.m. or 8 p.m., with the victims trekking through the forest for as long as four hours.
“When the place is discovered we had to move and that starts around 7 or 8 in the night. Sometimes we walk for 4 hours. That is the reason for most of the bruises you see on our bodies,” she said.
Alamu explained that the repeated night-time treks left many of the victims with bruises and highlighted the difficult conditions they faced throughout their captivity.
