According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday, August 1, 2026, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described himself as the most experienced politician in Rivers State since the return to democratic rule in 1999.
Speaking during a special media chat in Port Harcourt, the former Rivers State governor addressed recent political developments, including Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s return to what Wike described as his political family after months of political tension.
Wike alleged that those who encouraged Fubara to confront him politically had little to contribute to the state’s development and claimed they offered the governor poor political advice, which he said contributed to the crisis in Rivers State.
The FCT minister said his years in public service, including his tenure as governor, have given him extensive knowledge of the state’s political landscape and its key actors.
“I was a governor in the state and I know all these people. In fact, there is no politician in the state today that is more experienced than me,” Wike said.
