Those Who Will Take This Job Away From Me Will Try, All Is Fair in Politics — President Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said those seeking to unseat him will make their attempts, stressing that politics offers equal opportunities for all contenders.

The President made the remarks while addressing Catholic bishops who visited him at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, according to a video shared on the official X account of Punch on July 28, 2026.

During the meeting, Tinubu said he had no involvement in the internal disputes affecting opposition parties. He also maintained that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) operates independently and does not intimidate political actors.

“Those who will take this job away from me will try. All is fair in politics. And it’s equal opportunity. The INEC is neutral. They have never intimidated anybody,” the President said.

Tinubu’s comments come amid ongoing political realignments and discussions ahead of future electoral contests, as parties continue to position themselves for upcoming elections.
