Former Kaduna Central senator and human rights activist Shehu Sani has opposed Senate involvement in the ongoing investigation into the activities of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the alleged convener of PFIPC.
In a statement posted on his official X account, Sani said the probe should be left to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, warning that Senate involvement could politicize the process.
“If the ICPC is investigating the fake agency and its agents, there is no need for the Senate to probe, or else everything will be politicized,” he said.
Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi has recently come under scrutiny over alleged links to a fake agency reportedly involved in money laundering and related offences.
While some Nigerians have praised the Federal Government’s response, others have called for a thorough investigation to identify everyone connected to the alleged activities. Sani maintained that the ICPC should be allowed to complete its investigation without interference, arguing that Senate involvement could hinder efforts to uncover the truth.
