The principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esiele, Mrs. Alamu Folawe, has described the difficult conditions she and other abducted victims endured while in captivity, saying they were repeatedly moved through the forest whenever their captors feared their hideout had been discovered.
Speaking in a video shared by TVC on Monday, July 13, 2026, Folawe said the kidnappers often began relocating the victims around 7 p.m. or 8 p.m., forcing them to trek for hours at night.
“We had to move from one point to another, and that was a major problem we had. When the place is discovered, we have to move, and that starts around 7pm or 8pm at night. Sometimes, we walk 3 or 4 hours. That is most of the bruises you see on our bodies,” she said.
Folawe explained that the repeated night-time treks left many of the victims with bruises and other injuries, making their ordeal even more exhausting as they navigated difficult terrain whenever the kidnappers believed security operatives were closing in on their location.
