Residents of Mpape have been left in disbelief after police allegedly rescued a 36-year-old woman who had been confined and chained inside a dark room for over a year following a bitter family disagreement linked to a business dispute.

According to early reports, security officers stormed a residential house in Mpape after receiving an emergency tip-off from a concerned resident who had reportedly heard unusual sounds coming from a locked room.
Officers allegedly found Grace chained at the legs, weak and unable to stand properly. She was reportedly seated on a cold floor in a dark, poorly ventilated room, surrounded by waste, indicating prolonged neglect and lack of care.
