I Went To My Friend With NTA & Said, ‘Can You Help Me Dub This Thing?’ He Said Madam Is Around—Ejiro

Veteran filmmaker Zeb Ejiro has recounted how a friend’s assistance at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) helped keep his filmmaking dream alive after numerous companies rejected his first movie.

Speaking on The Legacy Series on June 25, 2026, Ejiro reflected on the challenges he faced while trying to secure support and distribution for what he believed was a quality production. Despite repeated rejections, he remained determined to find opportunities for the film.

According to Ejiro, he approached a friend at NTA, identified as Ijeuwa, and asked for help making a copy of the movie so he could continue presenting it to potential distributors.

“I went to one of my friends who was working with NTA then. I said, ‘Ijeuwa, can you help me to dub this thing?’” Ejiro recalled.

He explained that Ijeuwa worked under Dr. Victoria Ezeokoli, then Director of Programming at NTA, and initially hesitated because his supervisor was in the office.

“The only way I can dub it is that I will have to go to Madam’s office, and Madam is around. I can’t do it. But if you leave the tape with me, when Madam goes out, I will be able to dub it for you,” Ejiro quoted his friend as saying.

Ejiro agreed and left the tape behind, hoping the copy would help him continue pursuing opportunities despite the setbacks he had experienced.
