President Bola Tinubu says ongoing road infrastructure projects in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are reinforcing the area’s role as a major agricultural hub.
According to Daily Post on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Tinubu, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, made the remarks during the inauguration of the Gomani–Dafa–Yangoji Road in Dafa.
The president said the new road will improve access to markets for farmers, enable buyers to reach farms more easily and reduce post-harvest losses caused by poor transportation.
He added that the project goes beyond improving mobility, saying it will enhance residents’ quality of life by supporting livelihoods, improving access to schools and hospitals, and strengthening links between rural communities and the wider economy.
“With improved infrastructure, Kwali can grow further as a food-producing hub for the FCT and surrounding areas,” Tinubu said, adding that the project aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s commitment to extending development beyond urban centres.
“Abuja cannot be a city of two worlds, with gleaming district lights but forgotten satellite towns. This road connects Gomani, Dafa and Yangoji to markets, to schools, to hospitals, and also to opportunities,” he said.
