Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has bid an emotional farewell to supporters after confirming his departure from the club, with the Spanish international set to join Real Madrid.
In a video shared on his official X account on July 27, 2026, the 27-year-old reflected on his four-year spell at Stamford Bridge, thanking the club, coaches, teammates and fans for their support.
Cucurella said he arrived at Chelsea as a young player determined to win trophies and compete in the UEFA Champions League. He acknowledged that his early days at the club were challenging but said hard work and determination helped turn things around.
“Hi Blues, after four seasons together, it’s time to say goodbye. I’ve had some time to reflect and remember what we’ve lived together,” he said.
He added that London “will always be my home” and thanked fans for their unwavering support, saying he would never forget hearing his song at Stamford Bridge, winning trophies and sharing memorable moments with the club.
Cucurella also expressed gratitude to Chelsea’s coaching staff, teammates and workers at Cobham for making him feel at home. He concluded by wishing the club future success, saying, “I truly hope to see Chelsea up, where you belong and deserve to be. Once a Blue, always a Blue.”
