Prof. Wole Alamu, husband of Mrs. Rachael Alamu, has revealed that members of the Muslim community in Oyo were the first to visit and support him after his wife and other victims were abducted in the Oriire school kidnapping.
Speaking in a video shared by Splash FM 105.5, Alamu said he spent the first 35 years of his life as a devoted Muslim and served as an imam before converting to Christianity.
Recalling the period following the kidnapping, he said Muslims in Oyo were the first to offer him comfort, followed by the Muslim community at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).
“The first 35 years of my life, I lived it in the mosque. In case you were wondering, I was an imam. During my time as an undergraduate at the University of Ibadan, I served as second-in-command,” Alamu said.
He added, “The Muslim population of Oyo State was the first to pay me a visit, and the Muslim population of LAUTECH was the second.”
