Elon Musk Spent $290 Million to Elect Trump, Now He Wants to Buy Congress by Spending $100 Million – Sen. Sanders

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has accused billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk of using his wealth to influence American politics, alleging that he is seeking to help Republicans retain control of Congress through major political spending.

In a post on X, Sanders claimed Musk spent about $290 million supporting Donald Trump’s election campaign, describing it as an investment that had yielded significant returns.

According to Sanders, Musk’s wealth has since increased by about $438 billion, further expanding his financial and political influence.

The senator also alleged that Musk now plans to spend another $100 million to help Republicans maintain control of Congress, warning that such spending could increase the influence of wealthy individuals over the political process.

“Elon Musk spent $290 million to elect Trump. His investment worked. He is now $438 billion richer. Now, he wants to buy Congress by spending $100 million to keep Republicans in control. We must fight oligarchy. Defeat Musk. Preserve democracy,” Sanders wrote.

The post has generated mixed reactions on social media, with supporters and critics debating Sanders’ claims and concerns about the role of money in U.S. politics.
