Friends of a young woman allegedly killed by her boyfriend in Edjeba, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, have shared her photographs online while mourning her death.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of June 23, 2026, at the suspect’s apartment on Ajidi Street, Edjeba. According to accounts shared by friends, the deceased had contacted them in distress, claiming that her boyfriend was harming her.
They said they subsequently called the suspect, who allegedly denied that she was with him at the time.
Hours later, the woman’s body was reportedly discovered in a pool of blood inside the apartment. Reports allege that she suffered a fatal neck injury and multiple stab wounds.
Friends and residents said the deceased was a frequent visitor to the residence and had last been seen on June 22 purchasing food items, reportedly for a meal she planned to share with the suspect.
According to reports, the landlord heard screams coming from the apartment and alerted security operatives. Police officers who responded to the scene discovered the woman’s lifeless body with severe injuries.
The suspect was arrested and taken into custody, while the Delta State Police Command confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing.
Police spokesperson CSP Bright Edafe stated that authorities are continuing inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the case.
