A man has sparked debate on social media after sharing his views on how polygamous marriages should be structured during an interview on Brown’s Couch.
He argued that men intending to have multiple wives should create a significant gap between marriages. According to him, a man who marries his first wife at 25 should wait until about age 50 before taking a second wife.
He said the wider age gap would place the children in different generations, reducing sibling rivalry and allowing the older children to act more as guardians to the younger ones.
The speaker also maintained that marrying a second wife only a few years after the first often leads to conflict within the family. He added that once a couple has spent many years building a shared purpose and life together, the first wife may be more likely to accept the decision to expand the family.
His comments have generated mixed reactions online, with many social media users debating his perspective on polygamy.
