Chief Damian Madubugo, an uncle of the 28-year-old Point of Sale (POS) operator whose body was allegedly dumped in a canal along Monastery Road, Mopo, near the Sangotedo Shoprite complex in Ajah, Lagos State, has alleged that the victim’s neighbour repeatedly harassed her before her death.

Speaking in an interview with Punch Newspapers on Friday, July 31, 2026, Madubugo said the deceased had previously complained to her family about the neighbour’s persistent advances, which she consistently rejected.
“She is 28 years old and she has been complaining about her neighbour that has been approaching her but the girl refused him. Then after taking advantage of her, they killed her and dumped her in canal. And it’s the same neighbour that brought her bag home for the sister. The same bag she was carrying,” he said.
Madubugo said the family has been left devastated by the incident and is demanding a thorough investigation and justice for the deceased. He maintained that the victim never expressed any willingness to have a relationship with the neighbour and had repeatedly rejected his alleged advances.
