“I Am Not Happy Nigerians Are Still Dying, Every Gov’t Has Made Efforts to Tackle Insecurity” – Gagdi

Yusuf Gagdi, a member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, says successive administrations have made efforts to tackle insecurity despite the country’s ongoing security challenges.

Speaking on Channels Television on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Gagdi expressed sadness over the continued loss of lives, stressing that no responsible leader would be satisfied with the situation.

“I am not happy that Nigerians are still dying. Every administration has made efforts to tackle insecurity. Those efforts should be acknowledged even if the problem has not been completely solved,” he said.

The lawmaker described insecurity as a complex national challenge requiring sustained commitment from government, security agencies and citizens. He urged authorities to continually review and strengthen security strategies while calling on Nigerians to support security agencies through intelligence sharing and community cooperation.

Gagdi added that tackling terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and communal violence requires a collective national effort rather than placing the responsibility solely on the government.
