Dangote Petroleum Refinery has opened discussions with Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo, the Republic of Congo’s national oil company, on a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening petroleum supply and regional energy cooperation.
According to Daily Post on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, an SNPC delegation visited the refinery complex in Lagos, where both parties held talks on long-term collaboration in refining operations, fuel distribution, industrial development and investment opportunities.
SNPC Managing Director Maixent Raoul Ominga described the Dangote Refinery as one of Africa’s most significant industrial achievements, commending its scale and technological capacity.
He noted that although Republic of the Congo has domestic refining capacity, it is seeking stronger partnerships to ensure a stable supply of refined petroleum products and promote joint economic growth.
Officials said the discussions also covered knowledge exchange, regional energy security and broader industrial cooperation. The talks form part of wider efforts by African countries to reduce dependence on imported petroleum products and strengthen collaboration among the continent’s major energy producers.
