“I Knew NDC Was Not Listed Among the Pre-Qualified 14 to Collect Access Code” – Umar Ardo

Public affairs analyst Umar Ardo has questioned the registration process of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), alleging that the party did not meet the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) preliminary requirements before it was registered.

Speaking during an interview on Trust TV on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Ardo discussed the legal dispute surrounding the NDC and ongoing efforts to have the party deregistered. He claimed available records did not include the NDC among the political associations that progressed to the next stage of the registration process.

“I knew NDC was not listed among the pre-qualified 14. It was not listed among the eight that were supposed to collect the access code and enter the INEC portal to fill Form EC15A,” Ardo said.

He argued that political associations seeking registration are required to complete INEC’s established procedures, including the pre-qualification stage and submission of documentation through the commission’s portal, adding that any deviation from the process should be thoroughly examined.

Ardo’s comments reflect his allegations during the interview and have not been independently substantiated in the report.
