Man City Set to Break Premier League Transfer Record to Sign Chelsea and Man United Target – Reports

Manchester City are reportedly preparing a £130 million bid for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, a move that could set a new Premier League transfer record.

According to Daily Mail Sport, City have moved ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United in the race to sign the 21-year-old after his standout performances for Forest. The report states that City previously submitted a £110 million offer earlier this summer, but Nottingham Forest rejected the bid and insisted that only a record-breaking proposal would trigger serious negotiations.

City are now said to be ready to return with an improved offer worth up to £130 million, placing them in a strong position to secure the midfielder’s signature. Chelsea and Manchester United continue to monitor the situation but are reportedly unwilling to meet Forest’s valuation at this stage.

Anderson has impressed with his energy, tactical awareness, ball retention, and consistency, qualities Manchester City reportedly believe make him an ideal fit for Pep Guardiola’s system and a long-term solution in midfield.

Former England international Chris Waddle has urged caution over a potential move to the Etihad Stadium. While praising Anderson’s ability, Waddle warned that the midfielder could face challenges securing regular playing time in a squad already packed with elite talent, drawing comparisons with Kalvin Phillips’ difficult spell at the club.
