My Wife Told Me, ‘Peter, I Don’t Understand You, You Bought Ticket Of Airline You Don’t Know About’ – Obi

Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has recounted a conversation with his wife after he flew with RwandAir for the first time during a trip to East Africa to study the country’s education system.

Speaking in a video shared by Advocacy For Good Governance, Obi said he chose the airline despite having no prior experience with it. During the flight, he discovered that the two pilots operating the aircraft were Nigerians.

Obi recalled that after returning home, his wife questioned his decision to travel with an airline he had never used before.

“My wife asked me, ‘Peter, have you ever flown with Air Rwanda?’ I replied no. She said, ‘Peter, I don’t understand why you would just buy a ticket from an airline you know nothing about,’” Obi said.

According to the former governor, he reassured her that the airline’s pilots were qualified professionals and that passenger safety depended on their competence rather than his familiarity with the carrier.

“I assured her that the people there were pilots; they wouldn’t be able to fly a plane if they weren’t qualified,” he added.

Obi made the remarks while reflecting on his visit to an East African country to learn more about its educational system.
