Police in India’s Uttar Pradesh state are investigating the abduction and killing of a four-year-old girl in Kasganj district. Authorities said one suspect has been arrested while the alleged main suspect remains at large.
According to police, the child was reported missing on June 6, 2026, after she disappeared from outside her family home while visiting relatives in the village. Her body was found three days later in a secluded area.
Investigators said the case is being treated as a serious criminal matter involving allegations of kidnapping, murder, conspiracy, and offences under child-protection laws. Police told local media that the motive may be linked to a longstanding political rivalry stemming from village elections held in 2021.
The victim’s father said the family had travelled from Faridabad to visit the child’s ailing grandfather when the incident occurred. Authorities said efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the remaining suspect.
